SEOUL, Korea – January 2, 2025 – SAMSUNG SDI President Joo Sun Choi called on the company’s employees to return to the core values in challenging times and build a company driven by technological capability through his New Year’s speech on Thursday.
“This year, the business environment is expected to become more challenging due to rising uncertainties surrounding the second Trump administration, and ongoing political instability globally,” Choi said in his speech. “In times like these, we must return to our core values, closely assess the true demands of the market, and enhance our technology and quality from the customer's perspective.”
Choi also emphasized “Our future depends on securing emerging technologies. Technology is our hope, and we must prepare for and build on the supercycle by proactively discovering technologies that can change the world.”
Reflecting on 2024, the president mentioned the challenged that the company faced due to a slowdown in the electric vehicle market, while positively evaluating the company’s achievements of strengthening partnerships with major customers, enhancing cost competitiveness and developing new technologies for the future.
Choi called on the employees and executives to “eliminate unnecessary processes, improve efficiency, and foster a positive organizational culture based on trust and communication, while ensuring compliance in every aspect of our operations.”
“I urge all our SAMSUNG SDI employees to take a proactive role in this effort, and I will personally lead by example, reflecting deeply and taking action,” he said. “With the active engagement from all employees, 2025 is set to be a year of significant growth and advancement.”
