SAMSUNG SDI unveiled next-generation products such as all-solid-state batteries and 46-phi cylindrical batteries, as well as LFP+ and NMX batteries. The company also showcased various battery line-ups, including the prismatic battery P6 (sixth edition) and 21700 cylindrical battery, which are currently in mass production.
SAMSUNG SDI's all-solid-state battery is to achieve an industry-leading energy density of 900Wh/L with its innovative cathode-free technology. Since late last year, samples have been made available to customers, who have provided positive feedback. Mass production of the 46-phi cylindrical battery for micro mobility (M-mobility) applications is scheduled to commence early next year.
“SAMSUNG SDI is leading the global mobility market through its ‘super gap’ technological competitiveness and outstanding product quality,” said Choi Yoon-ho, President of SAMSUNG SDI.
“We will continue to lead the way in the future mobility market through targeted mass production of next-generation products such as all-solid-state batteries and 46-phi cylindrical batteries.”
The LFP+ battery is applied with a novel electrode technology, which improves energy density by more than 10 percent compared to previous LFP battery. It is also optimized for commercial vehicles with long-life performance of more than 5,000 cycles and fast-charge technology that enables 80% charge in 20 minutes.

SAMSUNG SDI also displayed a module-less battery pack CTP(cell-to-pack), which enables higher energy density and cost savings in the same volume by removing modules, and a video on safety-enhancing technologies. The company also showcased its battery applications such as the BMW iX, e-scooters and e-bikes to enhance visitors' insight.
In addition, SAMSUNG SDI introduced its ESG initiatives such as the RE100 action plan, recycling of waste batteries, and carbon reduction activities under the company’s vision of ‘To make the world greener and sustainable through our innovative technology’
