Innovation Activities

Black Belt, Key to the 6 Sigma

6 sigma activities have borne out much fruit by the BB project led by the qualified BB (Black Belt) bearer and Samsung SDI aims at the qualification of BB of all the key officers. In addition to the traditional method DMAIC/DMADOV(DFSS), we are operating various innovative techniques like Lean (IE), TRIZ, GVE and PI in our training courses.

Project Operation

Executives/Team managers undergo the champion training course and lead the execution of the task called champion’s task. Champion’s task develops into the sub tasks like BB tasks or GB (Green Belt) tasks Performed by associated personnel so the whole team members are involved in the project.
There are also TDC tasks maintained with the goal of early accomplishment of our strategic objective, TDC (Build a leading G·R·S Company). With these activities we are trying to solve our key/pressing management problems by the BB tasks or CFT tasks between the related departments.

Samsung SDI SCM

In 1996, by the process innovation throughout the company, we have applied big bang implementation to entire modules first time in Korea and the introduction of APS system in 2003 and purchasing system in 2004, we have expanded our structure to SCM system connecting customers-SDI-partner companies from the already established resource management system for whole company centered upon internal efficiency.
For the transformation into the leading eco friendly green energy company (G-R-S SDI2.0), we, based on the green management and sustainability management, are constructing the systems management structure to motivate the operation of systems and optimize the company’s 8 major projects.
